SPINNINGtime in Ross

Ross being on the Tasmanian equator – half way between Tasmania's North and South –every Australia Day Guild members gather in Ross. They meet old friends, do a bit of spinning, have a bit of a chat, show something and tell how, swap some notes and possibly the odd recipe or three – pickles, biscuits and other things. In 2006 it was a hottish day in Ross – sun hats and sandal weather. There was actually a smoke haze hanging over the landscape thanks to a strong northerly blowing smoke down to Tasmania from the bush fires in Victoria. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant day despite all of that.

Ross was full of tourists. Many of them stopped to watch and ask some delving questions about all this spinning and other activity that they'd accidentally happened upon and that wasn't in their tourists' guidebook– most of it to do with somewhat cooler weather. And, apart from that, and as usual, The Bothwell SPINin & spinOUT was on the agenda as expected.

The images below were taken at random but unsurprisingly they not only have something to say about Australia Day in Ross but a little bit about Bothwell's SPINin as well.
