The
Bothwell SPINin is held in the Bothwell
District School's Gymnasium and grounds. The Draft
Program gives some insight into what is in store for
SPINin
visitors in 2007. Aside from The SPINin
it is envisaged that there will be a range of side events
in the township.
Bothwell
is the home of Golf in Australia. On
Saturday 3rd March there will be a GOLF TOURNAMENT for people
attending the SPINin and/or their partners
at Australia’s Oldest Golf Course at Ratho in Bothwell.
More details later as they become available
Bothwell
is also renowned for the deer hunting and trout fishing available
in the district. These activities attract many people to the region
and are important to Bothwell as a tourism destination. Traditionally
the first weekend in March – The
SPINin weekend – is
the opening of the deer hunting season in Tasmania and Bothwell
is an important area for hunters to gather.
The
SPINin Committee is working with local
groups to coordinate SPINoff
events,
exhibitions and displays in the township aimed at increasing the
opportunities available for SPINin
visitors and to help them plan their visit to Bothwell.
It is hoped that by October 2006 it will be possible to confirm
some of these activities and list them on this page as details
become available.
A
tour of Historic Bothwell has been planned and depending upon
demand there may be other tours leaving Bothwell during and after
The SPINin
weekend. Details will be placed on this page when
they become available
Before
and after The
SPINin Weekend it is planned that there
will be workshops of various kinds and focusing on various things
to do with textile techniques and studio production. It
is planned that by October 2006 it will be possible to confirm
most if not all of these workshops and list them on this page
as details become available. The SPINin
Guests will lead many of these workshops.
