The Bothwell SPINin is an occasion for people from many countries with similar interests to gather in Bothwell; to celebrate their stories and Bothwell's sense of place; to explore and share ideas; to renew old acquaintances; to exchange information; and to make new friends in a spirit of good fun and friendship. It is particularly enhanced by the cultural exchange that occurs between participants and the officially invited international, national and state guests that are one of its special features
However we can promise diversity and and an exciting cultural experience.
The 2009 Bothwell Blend
The merino wool top featured as our site colour scheme was selected by the Bothwell committee from samples designed by Carol Robinson reflecting the Bothwell landscape.
"The autumn colours completely captivated me, in particular the ruby red of the rosehips, the golden poplars, the grey greens of the gums and the soft butter yellow of the hay bales.
When designing a yarn, a ‘zing’ color must be added to the complementary colours as this enhances the combination. I chose a celery Green as my ‘Zing’ and it worked well.
If I am asked to design the 2011 Bothwell Blend I think I would like to look further afield to the ocean that surrounds
How many colours does the Ocean have?
How many colours of blue can I get into a yarn?
That’s what I will be aiming for.
Carol Robinson. "
