National Guest   -  Sue Evans

Sue began her art journey in 1997 when she attended TAFE part time.

In August 2005, she visited the HWS&D Guild open day in Launceston and saw for the first time how felt was made. From there on she was ‘hooked’ on felt.

Sue received her Certificate IV  in clothing production and Diploma in Arts, Craft and Design in 2006. She was also awarded the Northern TAFE Student of the year.

She applied for, and, with the mentioned credits, was accepted to study for Master of Contemporary Art in 2007. She graduated in December 2009.

Sue has a passion for all textiles, enjoys experimenting with dyes, heat guns, different fabrics and pushing the boundaries. She is currently influenced by wood turners artwork – if it can be turned in wood, why can’t something similar be created from felt?

 Local Guest   -   Eric

Although  Eric is known world-wide, he is very reticent and rarely makes a public appearance , so we are extremely excited that he has agreed (through his Manager) to attend SPINin 2011. His art and form will amaze.  Enough said!
